Smithville escapes with win over heated rival

​It was a gritty, physical low-scoring affair.​The Smithville Tigers made enough plays, though, to defeat their arch nemesis, the La Grange Leopards, 14-10.​The Tigers nearly went scoreless in the first half, but their defense kept them in the game. With only a minute left in the second quarter, Smithville quarterback Derrick Roberson found one of his receivers on a deep pass down the field, setting them up with first and goal at the 6-yard line.
