The Elgin baseball season has concluded. The Wildcats season wrapped in the area round of the University Interscholastic League (UIL) 5A state baseball championship tournament in Bryan. Elgin fell in consecutive games to the Montgomery Bears, 7-1 in game one and 17-2 in game two.
Heading into the bottom of the fifth inning, Elgin held a slim 1-0 lead. The Bears’ offense rolled up the ‘Cats in their half of the fifth, scoring six runs and adding an additional run in the bottom of the sixth to seal the win.
