Despite the Elgin Lady Cats 2021 softball season coming to an end in the area round against Magnolia West, the production of the season did not go unnoticed. After a shutdown early in 2020, the Lady Cats went from a squad that showed great promise, into a winning program threatening even the best in the 18-5A district. The Lady Cats wrapped their season as district co-champions and bi-district champions with a record of 17-13 overall and 13-1 in district play.
