Lady Cats host powerlift regionals

Due to the coronavirus, last year’s powerlifting high school postseason was canceled. However, this season, with UIL restrictions, the postseason is moving along smoothly. This past Saturday, March 6, the Elgin High School hosted the Region II Division I Girls Championship. “It’s an honor getting to host the regional meet,” said Coach Jens Anderson, Elgin athletic director. “We’ve split the event into an a.m. and p.m. group and into two gyms just to keep everyone safe.” The event hosted more than 30 schools and over 160 lifters.
