This weekend, the Magnolia West Lady Mustangs were too much for Elgin to overcome. The Lady Cats fell in the area round of the 2020-21 UIL softball championships this weekend, losing the series in two games 9-4 on Friday and 9-3 on Saturday in Mumford. In the first contest against the Lady Mustangs, Elgin trailed 9-0 heading into the sixth inning. Jaylan Roberson played a big part in the inning, driving three runs.
