The Elgin Lady Cats JV basketball team lost a tough road game Tuesday afternoon, falling 52-8 against Pflugerville High School in district competition.Denisse Fernandez was the top scorer for Elgin, collecting five points while going 1-for-4 from the charity stripe. She converted an impressive contested layup late in the third quarter, falling away from the basket and banking the ball high off the glass with a defender in her face.Fernandez and Payton Moore were the top contributors in the paint, each pulling down a number of offensive rebounds and creating secondary scoring opportunities for the Wildcat attack.
