Great regular season ends on a down note

​The Elgin Wildcats simply had an off game on senior night.​After a two-hour lightning delay at halftime, the visiting Rouse Raiders looked like the sharper team as they pulled away to win 42-23. With the loss, the Wildcats finished the season 7-3 and third in district rankings. A win would’ve secured their position as district runners-up.​Down 7-0 in the first quarter, the Elgin offense started to find a rhythm.
