Elgin girls top Bastrop, cement 3rd place finish

Repping their new uniforms for Teacher Appreciation Night, the Elgin Lady Cats cruised to a 3-0 victory over rivals Bastrop last Tuesday. With the win, Elgin (12- 4-1, 4-2 District 18-5A) finished the first round of district play in third place. Georgetown currently leads the district, followed by Hutto in second. Jill Sides netted a brace, and Jackie Amador headed in another goal for Elgin off a free kick.
