The Elgin Wildcat Invitational Powerlifting meet on Saturday was a huge success. With teams from San Marcos, College Station, Rockdale, Buda Hays, Brenham, Kyle Lehman, Thrall, Taylor and Elgin participating, the Wildcat gym was hopping with dedicated and determined athletes who were ready to give their all, lifting as much weight as their bodies would let them. Hosting a tournament with almost 200 lifters also meant that over 50 volunteers made up of students, faculty and parents, as well as approximately 30 Wildcat coaches, all pitched in to make it enjoyable for the competitors while also ensuring UIL lifting guidelines.
