The Elgin powerlifting athletes started off their 2021 season with plenty of first-place awards at two recent meets in Taylor and Giddings.
Elgin first competed in the THS Duck Invitation on Saturday, January 16. The meet included athletes from Lago Vista, Manor, Pflugerville Connally, Pflugerville Hendrickson, Rockdale and Thrall. Both the Elgin boys’ and girls’ teams placed second among the participating schools.
Powerlifters who placed first in their respective weight classes include Luis Trujillo, Jordan Hood, Ainsley Orme and Jami Robledo.
