In what was a Thursday night home series against Hutto Middle School, Elgin’s 8th grade ladies basketball teams split a doubleheader with the Hippos.First, the Lady Cats’ “B team” took the floor for a 5:15 p.m. tipoff.  Legacy Williams opened up the scoring for Elgin with a pair of field goals in the early going, while Lili Giron’s defensive pressure immediately made an impact.
