The Elgin cross country team travelled a few miles south to participate in the Bastrop High School Invitational on Wednesday morning, October 21. After the race was over, the ‘Cats were well-represented at the podium, with personal bests by first-place finisher Mario Ruiz (15:47), third-place Luis Reyes (16:27) and fourth-place runner Jaxon Larson (16:56). Also having strong runs were Julio Villa (18:32) and Lane Eckerdt (21:33). The boys’ team came in a strong second place in the meet.
