Boys' cross country move on to regionals

Elgin's cross country athletes attended the district meet in Georgetown on Thursday morning. Along with Georgetown, East View, Bastrop, Manor and Cedar Creek, both the Wildcat boys' and girls' cross country squads competed for the right to move on to regionals. The boys' team was led by coach Adam Adams and the girls' squad by coach Heather Clapper. Wildcat runner Mario Ruiz easily won first place in the boys' competition and was crowned as individual district champion.
