Despite posting a 2-1 record in district play last week, the Bastrop varsity baseball club was officially eliminated from state playoff contention with an 8-2, Friday night defeat to Elgin.In their preceding game against the Wildcats, Tuesday night in Elgin, the Bears stacked up six first-inning runs en route to a 14-9 win.
