As a way of showing support for the Elgin varsity football coaches, a group of parents whose sons play on the team have served Thursday evening meals for the staff. Gilbert Rangel, whose son Lyndon is on the varsity, along with help from many other parents, reached out to several local eateries to donate their specialties for the coach’s menu. In typical, gracious Elgin fashion, Aviator’s Pizza, Sonic, Southside BBQ & Market, Domino’s Pizza, Subway and Meyer’s Elgin Smokehouse happily volunteered to donate their meals to the Thursday get-togethers.
