Bastrop County Commissioners Court will hold a public hearing Tuesday, July 7 at 9 a.m. “regarding racial injustices, interracial tensions, and ways to promote equality for all.” I believe that we need to address the systemic racism present in ourselves, our community, our county, and our country. We must acknowledge that there is a problem, that systematic racism exists and that it negatively impacts Black people and people of color everyday. I encourage everyone to think about what you can do to take action to address systemic racism and affect positive change.
