Reynaldo Delgado Reyna

Reynaldo Delgado Reyna, better known as “Popo,” passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at the age of 89 surrounded by his loving family. Reynaldo was born December 5, 1932, to Gilberto and Tomasa Reyna in Elgin, Texas.

Reynaldo was a lifelong Elgin resident that retired from the Elgin Cotton Oil Mill. He enjoyed listening to music, watching TV and without fail at ten he was always waiting for the Price is Right. He loved riding his bike through out the town stopping at all his favorite spots to play Texas Lotto scratch off tickets.

He is preceded in death by his wife Georgia Reyna, his parents, brother Guillermo (Willie) Reyna, and sister Isabel Reyna Aguilar.

He is survived daughter Elizabeth (Alfonso) Oviedo, sons Jesse Garcia and Guadalupe Valle, his grandchildren whom he loved dearly Jose, Alexandra (Anthony), and Reynaldo “Rey” Oviedo, Manuel, Maria, and Elizabeth Garcia. His great grandchildren Makayla, Isaac, and baby Anthony Rey. His siblings Alberto (Juanita) Reyna, Guadalupe Reyna, Elena (Ramon) Rangel, Oralia Mendez, and Ernestina Vasquez.

On behalf of the family, we like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our friends and family for being there for us during this time. Your care and concern meant a lot to Popo.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Elgin Cemetery.
