Phillip Matthew Bayer, age 77 of McDade, Texas passed away peacefully Sunday evening May 2nd, 2021 at his home where he lived since 1974.  Born and raised in Floresville, Texas to Valerian Bayer and Anita Grace Lindhart on November 8th, 1943.  Phillip was the second to youngest of six children.  He lived in Floresville, then Fort Worth until 1968 then moved to McDade in 1974.  He was married to Carol Ann McNeil on October 30th, 1965.  They had two children and two grandchildren.  He worked for and retired from the Department of Public Safety.
