Marion Emzy Preston of Elgin, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 17, 2022, Easter Sunday, what a glorious day to receive his heavenly reward.

Marion was born to Gus and Mary Preston, in Austin, Texas on November 26, 1942. He met and married the love of his life, Jane, in his early 20s. By his 30th birthday, Marion and Jane had three children; Kim, Chris and Cassie, and their small family was complete.

Marion was a man of strong faith, loved the Lord and was a devoted servant to his church, Family Worship Center of Elgin.  Marion enjoyed a good game of 42 or cards, loved to play pool and could often be found tinkering on computers. An enthusiastic traveler, he was always planning their next trip, often to Colorado or Arkansas. Marion was also blessed to make two pilgrimages to the Holy Land.  But what he loved most was spending time with friends and family.

Marion is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Jaime Pruneda of Elgin, Texas; daughter, Cassondra Rhoades of Austin, Texas; seven grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Marion is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Emery and Darlene Preston of La Porte, Texas. He also leaves behind a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins, who all loved him dearly.

Marion is preceded in death by his parents, L. A. “Gus” Preston and Mary Frances Preston Martin; by his wife, Myra Jane Preston; and by his son, Christopher Morgan Preston.

Marion loved a good debate and deep conversations about the things of God.  We will miss his smile, his sarcasm and his unique, infectious laugh.  Marion fought the good fight; he finished his course; he kept the faith.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 10:00 AM at The Family Worship Center of Elgin.

Arrangements entrusted to Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home.
