Lynda Woods Edmonson

Lynda Woods Edmonson of Pflugerville passed away at her home on Monday, August 12, 2019, at the age of 77.

Lynda was born in Graham, Texas on August 15, 1941 to Walter and Eillene Woods. She attended high school in Wichita Falls, Texas and afterwards eloped to marry her high school sweetheart, Herb Edmonson. Herb and Lynda established their first home in San Clemente, California while Herb served as a United States Marine. They then moved to Baytown, Texas and started their family. In 1971, they moved their growing family to Austin, Texas where Lynda enjoyed a successful career as an Avon Lady. She also spent 10 years working as office manager for the Texas Office of the Attorney General, eventually retiring from that position. Herb and Lynda enjoyed their remaining year’s together living in McDade, Texas raising their family, and tending to animals and land.

Lynda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She is survived by her children, Cathy Edmonson from Round Rock; Herb Edmonson, Jr. from Round Rock; Steve Edmonson from Bastrop; Russell Edmonson and wife, Alma from San Antonio; Sharon Niemann and husband Scott from Pflugerville; and Elaine Garza and husband, Tom from San Antonio; 15 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 11 nieces and nephews; one brother, Pete Woods from Kansas and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Herb; her parents Walter and Eillene; one sister, Patsy Crowe and one brother, Gordon Woods.

A Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2019, at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home, 604 Highway 95 North, Elgin, TX 78621. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Providence-Jones. Interment will follow at McDade Cemetery.
