Linda Steinocher Mixson

Linda Steinocher Mixson of Manor, passed away Friday, November 22, 2019.

Linda was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was the third child of six, that were born to John and Dorothy Steinocher. She grew up in Iowa, attended junior college and was preparing to come to Texas to further her education, when she met the love of her life, Carroll Mixson. They were married and spent 44 years as a very devoted partnership in life. They brought into this world two wonderful daughters, Jennifer and Michelle. Each married their own soulmates and had two wonderful children each, Chase, Hannah, Grady, and Hayley. These grandchildren were the apple of Linda’s eye, which would sparkle each time she thought about or were around them.

Linda enjoyed playing solitaire on the computer while listening to her favorite music from the BEEGEES, sewing and other crafting hobbies. She sewed her own wedding dress, dresses for the girls as they grew, and even hemming up the overalls for Michelle’s husband Hugh. She loved to create things for her children and grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her husband Carroll, Daughters- Jennifer Wade (husband Justin), Michelle Wenzel (husband Hugh), four grandchildren Chase, Hannah, Grady, and Hayley. She is also survived by 4 brothers and 1 sister, Tom (Janet), Jim, David and wife Rose, Rick, and Lisa Becker, mother in law Elnora Craig, sister in law Linda Van Zandt and husband Khleber, along with two Aunts and numerous other family members. She was preceded by her parents John and Dorothy and several Aunts and Uncles.

A Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 pm Monday, November 25, 2019, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home, 604 Hwy 95 N, Elgin, Tx 78621. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Catholic Church, 301 E. Fourth St. Taylor Texas, 76574, with burial to follow at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
