On Saturday morning, volunteers gathered in Elgin Memorial Park in spite of threatening rain clouds and a cold front looming on the horizon to help clean up the city.
The volunteers picked up litter behind the H-E-B shopping center, along FM 1100 and on Brenham Street from Main Street to U.S. Highway 290. The community clean-up event lasted from 9 to 11 a.m., and they were able to finish before the weekend’s cold front came through Elgin.
