Team of community volunteers graduate after emergency response training

Bastrop County is more prepared for emergency and disaster response with 20 community volunteers having graduated and receiving certification for Basic CERT Training last weekend at the Bastrop County Office of Emergency Management.According to the National CERT mission statement, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training “empowers individuals with the knowledge necessary to promote resiliency in their community through preparedness, response, and recovery.”Individuals who attended this G-317 training volunteered 24 hours of their time to classroom and field experience.
