Reed supporters drive through downtown Bastrop

Supporters of Rodney Reed, a Bastrop man on death row, gathered at the Bastrop County Courthouse this past weekend ahead of the next hearing for his case on July 19.  After meeting at the courthouse, attaching flyers in support of Reed to their cars, and hearing from Reed’s brother, Rodrick Reed, and former U.S. congressional candidate Mike Siegel, attendees at Saturday’s rally drove a car caravan through Bastrop from the courthouse to the Kerr Community Park, honking their horns to draw attention to their cause.  More speakers at Kerr Community Park included Rev.
