Monument committee presents new site options

The effort to find a new home for the Confederate monuments at the Bastrop County courthouse continues, but has come up against a couple of obstacles. Two monuments with ties to the Confederacy—an obelisk monument dedicated to the Confederate soldiers of Bastrop County and a memorial to Major Joseph Sayers—currently sit on the lawn of the Bastrop County courthouse.
