McDade Independent School District Superintendent Barbara Marchbanks and Mark Dube, McDade ISD Board of Trustees president, recently traveled to Philadelphia to present at the National School Board Association Conference.
The title of the session presentation was “Roles and Responsibilities of the School Board and Superintendent in Improving Student Outcomes.”
Marchbanks and Dube were invited to present at the conference by NXT-Board and Lone Star Governance. NXTBoard and Lone Star Governance provide training and coaches to assist school boards in the governing process to improve student outcomes. Lone Star Governance is a continuous improvement model for governing teams that was developed by Texas Education Agency to assist school boards across the state. NXTBoard has taken that model to schools across the Nation. The McDade ISD school board began the Lone Star Governance training and coaching sessions in May 2018 and will continue the work toward student outcome-focused governance.
Dube said he is very pleased with the training and coaching through Lone Star Governance. The conference was a great opportunity to inform other school districts of the great successes happening at McDade ISD.
