McDade is growing, and the McDade ISD School Board reached out to the community for their ideas on how to manage and plan for the growth.
On Tuesday, January 7 and Wednesday, January 8, the McDade School Board hosted Community Conversations at the High School Campus. Unlike the usual school board meeting, their approach was more open, with attendees moving from table to table discussing a specific question at each and then affixing their specific recommendation to a board for that specific question.
Many attendees felt this open forum was more inviting and made them less intimidated to ask questions and voice their opinions. The majority of the attendees seemed to think these were the best solutions: limit the number of transfers, add a second story to on one of the buildings rather than build another school, and try to bring in new businesses.
An official report will be posted to the school website once the school board has had a chance to compile and discuss the results.
