The family of a man who died after an incident with police in 2020 have filed a lawsuit accusing the officers involved of excessive force.The lawsuit, filed last Wednesday in the Austin division of the U.S. District Court’s Western District of Texas, names the Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) and several officers from BCSO, the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Elgin Police Department.On September 1, 2020, Armando Mascorro Jr. was traveling east on U.S. Highway 290 when he fell out of the vehicle, then followed the vehicle into a pasture where he fought with officers investigating the crash.The ...
