BURNET – Elgin’s boys and girls golf teams placed fifth in the District 18-5A tournament last month at Delaware Springs Golf Course. Representing the Elgin boys were Evan Joseph (78-80), Elijah Tijerina (99-94), Luke Vizcarra (102-110), Jacob Neidig (99-102) and Alec Horn (119-N/A). Joseph took fifth place overall as an individual. He was named first team all-district and qualified for the regional tournament later this month. Competing for the Elgin girls were Caitlyn Lopez (116-114), Taylor Van Buskirk (104-104), Bella Lippke (119-124), Jyra Thurmond (124-112) and Bethany Smith (130-129).
