The Elgin Independent School District’s Flex Campus currently serves as a multipurpose building as needed. However, it will soon become an intermediate school to house fifth and sixth graders.
The reason behind this transition is the growth that the Elgin area has faced in recent years. As Elgin grows, so will the number of students attending its school district.
“Where we see our greatest growth and reaching effective capacity of our buildings is at the elementary and middle schools,” said Jodi Duron, Elgin ISD superintendent. “An intermediate school makes the most sense to relieve overcrowding of those schools.”
