Generous Elginites passing through downtown dropped their contributions into boots held by Elgin firefighters on Friday evening and Saturday morning as the Elgin Volunteer Fire Department raised funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. This year, EFD’s annual Fill the Boot fundraiser collected $6,640.83, the most they have ever raised, to support muscular dystrophy patients and fund research on the disease.
