After a prescribed fire escaped its boundaries and burned an additional 812 acres last month, the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) announced the selection of an independent panel to investigate the circumstances and cause of the fire.The panel consists of five experts from across the southern United States who have expertise in fire behavior in environments similar to Bastrop State Park, TPWD said in a press release last Wednesday.
