Elgin’s very own Olympic Taekwondo Team recently competed in the 2019 Houston Open Taekwondo Championship on February 23. Ana Sustaita, Kenia Cuellar, Arlette Cruz, Nathalie Calles, Valeria Cantu, Trey Reeves, Christopher Cruz, Nicolas Cruz, Tristan Cuevas and Marte Morales all fought with their hearts and gave it their very best. Collectively producing a total of 10 gold medals, seven silver medals and only three bronze medals, they now have their eyes set on this month’s Texas Showdown on March 23.
