Elgin ISD released a letter to parents on March 8 ahead of spring break outlining a number of updates for the rest of the school year.
Students will not need to make up for the four instructional days that were missed when school was cancelled from February 16 through 19 as a result of Winter Storm Uri. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) approved a waiver for Elgin ISD to miss those days of instruction without penalty.
The letter encouraged the Elgin ISD community to continue following guidance from local health authorities and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) during spring break.
