Two 18-wheelers crashed on U.S. Highway 290 in front of Southside Market & BBQ early Monday morning, causing an explosive fire that shut down traffic but did not lead to any injuries reported.Around 5 a.m. on Monday, the Elgin Volunteer Fire Department (EFD) and Elgin Police Department (EPD) responded to a crash between two commercial 18-wheelers at the 1200 block of Highway 290 West.
