DPS, police focus on reducing crashes

After a large number of vehicle crashes, many of which were fatal, in Bastrop County over the past few months, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and local law enforcement agencies teamed up to crack down on unsafe driving practices this past weekend. According to data from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Crash Records Information System, 12 car accidents in Bastrop County have been fatal so far this year, and 18 people have been killed.
