A fire caused by outdoor cooking spread across 37 acres in central Bastrop County on Saturday and Sunday, threatening 15 homes and causing residents in 24 homes to evacuate. At 5:45 p.m. on Saturday evening, Bastrop County Emergency Services District No. 2 (BCESD 2) first reported units en route to a fire on Cassel Way, located near Highway 21 and FM 1441, on their Facebook page.
