County draws new precinct lines with 2020 census data

After the past decade of population growth in Bastrop County, reflected in the most recent census, unbalanced the current precinct lines, the Bastrop County Commissioners Court approved a new precinct map last week.Bastrop County was obligated to redistrict, since after the 2020 census, the precincts at the time were out of balance on population. The proposed precinct changes would balance the population to bring down the deviation between the areas from 27.82% to 4.22%.
