County discusses new machines for more convenient voting

During the July 12 meeting, Bastrop County elections administrator Kristin Miles discussed with the Bastrop County Commissioners Court a proposal for the upcoming budget for purchasing new voting equipment that would make voting more convenient. Last year, Bastrop County began using ballot-marking devices, which lets voters choose their candidates on a digital machine that prints their votes on a ballot, during early voting, but on Election Day still used paper ballots for voters to mark themselves.
