City of Elgin Utility customers should expect pressure and intermittent service disruption until 10pm Tuesday February 16. Crews are making repairs as quickly and safely as possible to the leak at Avenue C and 2nd Street. The City of Elgin water utility is NOT shutting off water. Water outages may occur due to the extended, subfreezing temperatures.
If you have an outage: Possible water main leaks can be reported email@example.com if it’s an emergency call 512-285-5757. Leaks within your home at the sink or toilet can be turned off at the appliance, and you will need to follow up with a local plumber. Leaks that need to be turned off at the meter must be reported to the City. Continue to drip faucets. This water can be collected to help with drinking or non-potable uses, such as flushing toilets.
