On Sunday, October 6 at approximately 5:31 p.m., City of Bastrop police officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of State Highway 95 and a local hospital in reference to an automobile-pedestrian crash. Several officers responded and began a preliminary investigation. A four-year-old female, who is not being identified at this time, was in a parking lot in front of a parked vehicle. The driver of the vehicle pulled forward and struck the child from behind. The child was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced deceased. No other injuries or damages were incurred.
