Board discusses expected growth

Last week, the Elgin ISD school board gave an update on the enrollment of the schools, plans for future neighborhoods and other construction that is taking place. The enrollment projections for the 2019-2020 school year was surpassed by 100 students. The current enrollment is 4,540 students. Elgin city manager Thomas Mattis gave a presentation to the school board, discussing a variety of plans that are expected to happen in the coming months.
