Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative lowered its electric rate beginning with bills mailed on Dec. 1. The rate reduction equates to a $2.50 savings per month for the typical Bluebonnet residential member, who consumes an average of 1,200 kilowatt hours per month.
“This is great news for Bluebonnet’s members,” said Ben Flencher, Bluebonnet’s board chairman. “Everyone at Bluebonnet works very hard to control costs. Rate reductions like this are especially beneficial when we can do so while maintaining the same high level of reliability and outstanding service to our members and communities.”
Bluebonnet works hard to control the cost its members pay for power. Families and businesses can control how much energy they consume. Weather is the single biggest factor in energy consumption for residential consumers.
“I’m proud of the effort by our team that will allow our members to pay less for the power they use,” said Matt Bentke, Bluebonnet’s general manager. “Our board of directors is committed to passing those savings on to our members whenever possible, especially now with the winter months coming up.”
Bluebonnet members can keep track of their energy consumption and cost on a daily, or even hourly, basis by creating an online account on bluebonnet.coop or via our mobile app for smartphones. The Energy Tracking Tool offers members a way to eliminate surprising electric bills and reduce their power use.
To use the Energy Tracking Tool at bluebonnet.coop, members must have an online account. Setting up an online account is easy. Members need their account number and the name on the account.
