The Bastrop Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) announced on May 21 the resignation of executive director Mike Kamerlander, effective June 6. Kamerlander has accepted a new opportunity with the City of Lockhart, but his contribution to the organization leaves the City of Bastrop in a strong position moving forward.
Kamerlander joined BEDC as executive director in September 2018, bringing eight years of economic development and marketing experience to the city. During his time in the position, he brought strategic guidance to the organization, advancing education and workforce development and attracting new employers to the city.
