The Bastrop Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) announced on May 21 the resignation of executive director Mike Kamerlander, effective June 6. Kamerlander has accepted a new opportunity with the City of Lockhart, but his contribution to the organization leaves the City of Bastrop in a strong position moving forward. Kamerlander joined BEDC as executive director in September 2018, bringing eight years of economic development and marketing experience to the city.
