Bastrop city manager resigns

During last Tuesday’s regular meeting, the Bastrop City Council accepted the resignation of city manager Lynda Humble, appointed an acting city manager and initiated the process to search for a new city manager. At 6:41 p.m., near the beginning of the meeting, Bastrop Mayor Connie Schroeder announced the council would move into executive session, as allowed by the Texas Government Code, to conduct an annual performance evaluation of the city manager behind closed doors. A little over an hour later, the council returned to take action on what was discussed during executive session. In five motions introduced by each of the council members,
