The new playground is in Stony Point Park, located at 108 Maha Drive in Del Valle.

Community members from the rural Del Valle area gathered at Stony Point Park on Saturday, November 16 to build a playground in one day. Volunteers began that morning after a kick-off ceremony at 8:30 a.m., with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that afternoon after completion.

The playground-building was hosted by Ka-BOOM! with the effort led by Bastrop County Cares, the St. David’s Foundation and Bastrop County. This is the second playground that KaBOOM! and Bastrop County Cares have constructed in a one-day community building event this year in Bastrop County. On May 4, 85 volunteers built a playground in McDade.
