Bastrop County is doing well at slowing down the COVID-19 virus, local hospital officials say, but they have plans ready in case a surge of patients arrives, and they continue to urge social distancing.
According to Diana Kraus, the assistant vice president of trauma services for St. David’s HealthCare, a group of representatives from local healthcare providers all came together in mid-March as Bastrop County responded to the COVID-19 virus appearing in the region by activating an emergency operations center.
