At Smithville’s Monday, March 9 city council meeting, mayor Scott Saunders declared March 29, 2020 as Vietnam Veterans’ Day by signing a proclamation presented by the Lost Pines Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). March 29 marks 47 years since the last U.S. troops departed Vietnam in 1973.
