Smithville musician completes new opera for Nashville Symphony

Proud Smithville native and Bastrop resident, Hannibal Lokumbe, just finished composing music for a future string of shows with the Nashville Symphony which will take place in April of 2023.Lokumbe exploded onto the jazz scene in New York back in the 1970’s as a trumpeter and has since established himself as one of the preeminent figures of jazz music.
