Labor Day weekend in Elgin included a party at a couple of spots courtesy of a local church.Sacred Heart Catholic Church hosted the ç Sunday, Sept. 4. The event was split between the church’s parish hall and Elgin Memorial Park.The first half of the day’s festivities began with games such as a soda ring toss, fish pond and bingo at the hall. The Guadlalupanas group provided food and a bake sale. Patrons could also take advantage of a country store, buy religious articles, purchase scentsy and florals.
